Terms of Service
Last Updated: August 19, 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the Insera 3D website and the 3D printing services offered through it (the "Service"). "Insera 3D", "we", and "us" mean Insera Labs Pty Ltd (ABN 92 687 784 247), a company based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. By using the Service you agree to these Terms; if you don't agree, please don't use it.
2. Quotes and orders
You upload a 3D model, choose a print method, material, colour and quality, and our system returns an instant price. We currently accept STL, OBJ, GLB, GLTF, 3MF, STEP and STP files up to 50 MB. Printing is currently offered by SLS (selective laser sintering); FDM and SLA (resin) are coming soon.
- Quotes are automatic estimates. They are calculated from your model's volume, bounding box, and the options you select. We may correct pricing errors, or decline or cancel an order, where a file turns out to be unprintable, exceeds our build volume, or needs materially more material or machine time than the estimate assumed. If we do, we will tell you before charging you, and you can withdraw the order.
- Your price depends on the whole order. SLS parts are priced per gram at a rate set by the part's size, and that rate improves once the total weight of the SLS parts in your order reaches published thresholds. Adding or removing items therefore re-prices the rest of your order, up or down. The prices shown in your cart are always the current ones.
- A contract forms when we accept your order, not when the quote is displayed.
- Guest checkout. You do not need an account to order. A guest cart lives in your browser session, so clearing your browser storage or switching devices before you pay will clear it.
3. Pricing, payment and delivery
- Currency and GST. All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST unless we state otherwise.
- What makes up your total. An SLS order is priced as the sum of its parts, plus a one-off setup charge for the order and a per-part processing charge covering finishing. Both are order-level charges, shown separately in your cart and at checkout, and neither is duplicated per item. Any volume discount is applied automatically — you do not need a code.
- Prices are fixed at checkout. Your total is calculated from the order as you place it. If part of an order is later cancelled or refunded, we do not recalculate the remainder at a different volume tier.
- How your card is charged. When you check out we authorise your card for the order total, which places a hold on the funds. We capture the payment (actually take it) when we accept the order and begin production. If we cancel before that point, the authorisation is released and no money changes hands.
- Payment processing. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details.
- Where we ship. We ship Australia-wide and internationally. International orders may be subject to import duties and taxes charged by the destination country, which are your responsibility.
Production and delivery timeframes, rates, and packaging are set out on our Shipping & Delivery page. Timeframes are estimates, not guarantees, and depend on your model and on the carrier.
4. Your models and intellectual property
You keep all intellectual property rights in the models you upload. By uploading a file you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, and modify it solely to quote and manufacture your order, and for no other purpose. Modification here means the technical preparation printing requires, such as slicing, orientation, scaling, and support generation.
You represent and warrant that:
- you own the model, or have the licences, rights, consents, and permissions needed to use it and to authorise us to print it; and
- the model does not infringe the copyright, patent, trademark, design, or trade secret rights of any third party.
Copyright complaints. We respect the intellectual property of others. If we receive a credible notice that a file infringes someone's rights, we may cancel the order and remove the content. Send notices to info@inseralabs.com with enough detail to identify the work and the order.
5. What we won't print
We do not print, and you may not upload:
- firearms, firearm parts or accessories, or functional weaponry of any kind;
- explicit sexual content or obscene material;
- content promoting hatred, violence, or discrimination against any group;
- anything illegal to make, possess, or supply in Australia; or
- anything infringing another person's intellectual property rights.
We may review any file uploaded to the Service. Where a file breaches this section we will cancel the order and refund any amount captured, and we may suspend or refuse further access to the Service. Where the law requires it, we may report the matter to the authorities.
6. What 3D printing can and can't do
3D printing builds parts layer by layer. By ordering you acknowledge that:
- Layer lines are normal. They are visible on FDM and SLS parts and are not a defect. Resin parts are smoother but not perfectly smooth.
- Tolerances vary. Dimensional deviations of roughly ±0.2 mm to ±0.5 mm are standard. We can't guarantee a part will fit another part unless we have agreed a tolerance in writing.
- Supports leave marks. Overhanging geometry needs support structures, and small witness marks may remain where they were removed.
- Colour and finish vary. Colours may differ slightly between batches and from how they appear on your screen.
- We print what you send. We do not redesign your model. Faults inherent in the file, such as walls too thin to print, unsupported geometry, or a wrong scale, are not defects in our workmanship.
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Every item is custom-made to your file, so we do not accept returns for change of mind once production has begun. Cancellation windows, what we cover when an item arrives damaged or defective, and how to make a claim are set out in full on our Refunds & Returns page, which forms part of these Terms.
This does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 8).
8. Consumer guarantees and liability
Your Australian Consumer Law rights come first. Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures you are entitled to a replacement or refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they are not of acceptable quality and the failure is not major. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies those rights.
Subject to that, and to the extent the law permits: our liability for any claim relating to an order is limited, at our option, to reprinting the item, refunding the amount you paid for it, or supplying it again; and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
The website itself is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and available but do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and information may be updated without notice. Quoting, printability, and material guidance on this site is general information, not engineering advice. You are responsible for deciding whether a part is fit for your purpose.
9. Acceptable use and accounts
You agree to use the Service lawfully, and not to disrupt or probe it, attempt to reach areas you are not authorised to access, or circumvent our upload limits or rate limits. If you hold an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. We may suspend access to protect the Service or where these Terms are breached.
10. Privacy
How we handle your personal information and your uploaded files is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
11. Third-party links and services
The Service relies on third parties (Stripe for payments, Google Firebase for storage and authentication, and shipping carriers for delivery) and links to sites we do not operate, such as our LinkedIn page and Insera Labs Pty Ltd. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites and services we do not control.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms as our service and obligations evolve; when we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above. The Terms in force when you place an order are the ones that govern it. These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the courts of that jurisdiction.
